Organizing and Adding Documents

  • IntelliFolders: CaseLogistix has an intelligent, auto-organizing folder structure that is customizable for each library. Unlimited folders can be created using the Library Designer and rules can be created for each folder to govern how you want your document to be organized. Folders can be related to document fields so that new folders are automatically created for new values. For example, you can create a folder called "Cases" that is related to the field called Case and specify that a new folder be created automatically to display documents that are added and coded with a new case name in the case field. CaseLogistix Library administrators have unlimited control over how they want each folder and subfolder to behave within the folder tree. Each folder can also be assigned a custom icon for visual identification.
  • Import Documents from Anywhere: CaseLogistix WayPoint facilitates loading your documents from pretty much any load file format - including but not limited to CSV, IPRO, Summation, Concordance, Client Profiles and many more.
  • Zip File Support: You can now drag and drop a zip file into CaseLogistix and it will not only add the zip file as a record, but will automatically extract the contents as records and attach them to the zip file record as the parent.
  • PST Support: You can now drag and drop an Outlook PST database file into CaseLogistix, select which folders you want to import into CaseLogistix, and CaseLogistix will extract the items as records in CaseLogistix, extract any attachments to each item and add them as records attached to the parent record, autocode metadata from the PST such as To, From and Received Date
  • Support for Tiff with embedded OCR text: CaseLogistix has been modified to index a new tiff variant by Microsoft that embeds OCR text.
  • Adding/Acquiring Documents: CaseLogistix simplifies getting documents into the software, moving documents around within the application, and retrieving and tracking documents through a variety of easy-to-use methods.
  • Drag and Drop Add Documents: Documents can be added to the application by dragging them from the Windows file system. CaseLogistix also has integrated drag and drop support so documents may be moved between folders and tabs easily using drag and drop.
  • Drag and Drop Email: You can drag and drop Outlook email messages into CaseLogistix as it automatically maps the fields (To, From, Subject, Body) into CaseLogistix fields as well as bring in attachment documents and maintain the relation to the email document.
  • Ability to split documents: Right click on a document and choose the "Split" function. Move the document pages you want to split out into a new document. You can reorder the pages in the new document. Click the "Execute Split" document to turn the current document into two documents with the specified pages in each.
  • Ability to combine multiple documents: Select multiple documents in the document list and right click and choose "Combine Records". You can modify the order of the documents and create a new document that is comprised of the selected documents in the specified order.
  • Ability to Reorder pages in a tiff or pdf document:By right clicking on a document and choosing "Split Document", and moving all of the document pages into the new document, you can reorder pages in a document. When you execute the split, the selected document will be replaced with a new document with the pages in the correct order.
  • Automated Document Renaming: When documents are added to a document store, the user optionally can assign new file names using the Expression Builder. For example, this would allow the user to automatically have the file renamed to match the automatically assigned master number plus a static prefix value.
  • WayPoint Data Converter: Import and export from a variety of popular software and data formats.
  • Document Barcode Generation: Barcode routing pages can be generated from CaseLogistix in many popular barcode formats. Using routing software, this allows you to scan paper documents directly into CaseLogistix.
  • Orphan File Locator: This tool will check a document location for files that do not have an associated record in the CaseLogistix library (orphan files). It creates a report in the specified location, and will create a batch file to delete the files if you choose to.
  • Fast Switching between Document Libraries: The toolbar features a dropdown that allows a user to jump to a different document library by simply selecting it.
  • Intellifolder Option: Only show static folders: As a speed enhancement for large, complex libraries (<500,000 records with intellifolder structure), in the Library Designer under the properties for an Intellifolder, you can choose for only Static folders to be displayed. This causes the intellifolder to expand instantly instead of having to query the library database for all unique coded values for the Intellifolder field.
