Doculabs Acknowledges docHarbor® Document Services For The Coexistence of Security, Accuracy, Speed and Customer Service

San Diego, California - September 15, 2005 - Anacomp, Inc., A recent executive briefing by the independent technology consulting firm, Doculabs, concludes that Anacomp's docHarbor Document Services meet the growing needs for information protection and security -- even in the most document-intensive environments.

The report states that the docHarbor Web Presentment Service "provides organizations with all the benefits of electronic document management, controlled in a highly secured repository -- without incurring the risks and costs associated with an in-house solution."

Also according to the report, "...in the drive toward faster transactions and providing greater convenience, many organizations have overlooked a significant aspect of document management: the need for information protection, privacy and security." Doculabs went on to cite recent headline-grabbing breaches of personal information and wholesale data transactions, such as hackers able to obtain vital information on a major U.S. Bank's customers and then hawk their credit card and account numbers to outsiders. "Clearly, the risks of failing to protect information privacy are likely to increase considerably in the near future."

According to Richard Medina, Doculabs Principal Consultant, the docHarbor online solution is targeted toward vertical industries such as financial services, insurance and healthcare which have an ongoing need for highly secure document storage, but which also need a flexible solution to ensure timely distribution and access to documents by authorized users and customers.

"With docHarbor, administrators upload documents, whether electronic or scanned source and print stream data, to the docHarbor site through a secure connection," Medina said, quoting from the report, "docHarbor then indexes the documents and makes them available for search and retrieval through standard web browsers." In addition, privileged end users can upload documents in electronic folders directly from their desktop using the docHarbor Link Direct thin-client interface.

Medina goes on to say, "From a content protection standpoint, docHarbor offers many characteristics important to executives and IT personnel, including secure uploading, secure storage and controlled access plus data center security. Clearly, one of the biggest benefits docHarbor offers to organizations is ensuring that information is protected securely."

The security solution is comprised of three parts. First, by providing a secure electronic repository for documents, docHarbor ensures that only authorized individuals can access an organization's documents. Second, advanced encryption technology ensures secure transmission of documents to external users over the Internet. Finally, docHarbor is hosted in a highly secure data center offering both physical and system-level security.

Medina concludes by citing docHarbor's ancillary benefits such as improved employee productivity and operational efficiency, improved customer satisfaction, the ability of the organization to return to its core competencies and overall lower costs due to very low up front capital investments.
