Gibson, Dunn & Crutcher Selects Anacomp's CaseLogistix to Accelerate Litigation Review

International AmLaw 100 Firm to Leverage Hosted and On-Premise Versions to Collect, Organize, Review, and Produce Digital Evidence

SAN DIEGO, CA, DECEMBER 16, 2008 - Anacomp Inc., a leading business process solutions company, today announced it will provide hosted and on-premise versions of its CaseLogistix litigation support platform to Gibson, Dunn & Crutcher LLP, a leading global law firm and AmLaw 100 member. The Orange County office of the firm decided to utilize the software to enable its legal teams to quickly collect, organize, review, and produce electronically stored information (ESI). Gibson Dunn will utilize the software to accelerate litigation review processes, and will leverage the hosted version via Anacomps proven docHarbor information infrastructure to reduce organization complexities, capital and infrastructure investments and the internal resources required to prepare data for litigation review.

We chose to leverage both the on-premise and the hosted versions of CaseLogistix to minimize the costs and risks of eDiscovery and still utilize the full benefits of the robust platform, said Jeffrey Reeves, Co-Partner-in-Charge of the Orange County office of Gibson Dunn. The scalability of CaseLogistix was a big draw for us, and the hosted version saves us from having to scale and staff litigation projects for peak utilization and can grow with us as our cases evolve and change in size, scope and complexity.

As one of the American Lawyers top 100 law firms, Gibson Dunn has over 1,000 lawyers in 15 offices in major cities throughout the United States, Europe, the Middle East and Asia. The firm serves a diverse roster of clients in practice areas including corporate and business law, intellectual property, complex business litigation, white collar defense and regulatory enforcement, real estate, labor and employment, business taxation, bankruptcy and governmental affairs, and is committed to providing the highest quality legal services to its customers.

"Gibson Dunns selection of CaseLogistix serves as yet another proof point that our on-premise and on-demand versions provide top law firms the proven eDiscovery services that they need, and at the same time offers the ease of use and minimized upfront investment they desire, said Tom Ullman, Anacomps Senior Vice President of U.S. Sales. CaseLogistix enables law firms to streamline operations, reduce costs, and create competitive advantage by better managing increasing litigation document volumes and complex litigation processes."

CaseLogistix allows legal teams to quickly collect, organize, review, and produce any amount of digital evidence using an interface similar to that of Microsoft Outlook. The system is fully Unicode compliant and is able to recognize all foreign language character sets. Such capabilities offer strong differentiation over other litigation support solutions on the market and are highly desirable among larger, multi-national law firms and general counsel departments.

In addition, CaseLogistix's innovative docNative Paradigm approach to eDiscovery emphasizes native file review, empowering users to view hundreds of file types, including audio and video, without the need of third party file conversions. By managing documents in their native and near-native formats, the "TIFFing" conversion step can be skipped until the end of the discovery process, and only then as needed to format documents that are relevant and required for production. As such, users can greatly accelerate review, cut processing costs in half and reduce associated risks. In addition, this native file review approach also supports compliance with new Federal Rules of Civil Procedure (FRCP) around electronically stored information (ESI). Anacomp's docNative Paradigm also empowers the ability to manage images such as TIFFS, so hybrid format environments of TIFFS, near-native, and native files are seamless to the user.
