Document preparation is the manual process of preparing documents for scanning and can often be critical to the success of any imaging project. Document preparation typically involves but is not limited to the following:

  1. Removing documents from envelopes, folders, or other containers
  2. Unfolding, flattening, or repairing documents
  3. Removing staples, paper clips, or other fasteners that bind pages
  4. Sorting documents into batches or types
  5. Inserting document or batch separator sheets
  6. Returning documents to into their respective containers without refastening, resorting, or removing separator sheets

Scanning could involve batch paper scanning or digitizing large-format engineering drawings one at a time. If your legacy data is on film, Anacomp excels at microfilm scanning, indexing and duplication.

Indexing can be performed manually per customer specific requirements, or automatically using Optical Character Recognition (OCR) technology for high volume projects. Indexing can also be manipulated to create retention schedules for regulatory compliance and permit document �holds� for legal discover requests.
